Best places for a date in Goa

Discover the top places to take your spouse in Goa

When it comes to choosing an ideal location for taking your girl/guy out, you have two options. One is going to some fancy restaurant (fine dine predominantly, because who gets impressed with some roadside eating right?) and the other one is supposedly finding a peace and quiet place where you can give your partner quality time (tons of examples to be discussed further).

Your selection depends on the time of the day and what outcome you really want. For me, honestly speaking, I'd always love a pinch of both. I've been exploring every nook and corner of the state in the past few years; now that I earn a decent income. What intrigued me the most was that my beautiful state of Goa had beauty that even some of the best DSLR couldn't fathom. This magnificent and vibrant beauty is found everywhere, be it up in the hills, or on a beach and even in the markets. The smiling face of the vendors selling their products for livelihood really lit up my mood.

Getting back to the main theme, let us categorise this into 2 sections, namely for privacy and experience.
When it comes to making a worthwhile experience with your date, there are ample amount of places to head to.
GO-Kart: Goa has go-karting experiences available at 2 places, namely Baga and Verna. I personally like the verna go-karting track over the Baga one, typically because of its location and track distance. It's so much fun when in a group of 5 because although the track is long, it's not much wide, so there is little space to overtake and compete.

Beach: lets just put it this way; no one in their right minds would say No to going to a beach, especially in the evenings. There is so much more into finding the right place to just be together and enjoy the time together. My favorite go spot was always the beach; as quiet and tranquilant as they could be. My girl always enjoyed the seraphic mood and the star gazing along with the breaking of the waves.
There are those beaches that are busy throughout the year; then there are those that are simply tranquil and beautiful. Living in goa most of my life, I prefer the uninterrupted, open and clean sandy beaches hidden to the rest of the world. However, there have been days where I was stalked and followed by strangers who seemed desperate to rob me..
Some of the bustling beaches I would recommend in the North GOA would be Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Candolim, Miramar and Dona Paula Jetty.
Down the South, we have the famous Colva beach, Palolem beach, Agonda beach and the less known beaches like Galgibaga, Mobor, etc.

Have you heard about the ancestral heritage of Goa? Well, that's what you could do! Put on your explorer shoes and set out with your partner to visit and reminisce the heritage sites and backgrounds that date back to centuries. Old Goa always spell-bounds me. It is even more shocking when you have a guide with you who knows the deepest secrets and reveal them to you as you tour around the numerous churches.

Coming to the restaurants, there are ample of them that are just amazing to get you adored. one of my favorite is the Martin's Corner, with live music available on most weekends and superb food. It is a 5 minute drive from Colva. The beach shacks are very popular as well, offering multiple services such as sun bed, snooker table and candle lit tables on the shore.
Fancy sitting by the beach and having a lovely romantic dinner with your wife or girlfriend? Jump to some of the quiet beach restaurants such as Rogers beach shack Benaulim, Margao, Goa for a classic memorable evening with live music and night lanterns

Amusement Parks and activities: From all these years of dating, one thing I realised is that love grows when you spike the adrenaline/dopamine in your body. Other than sex, it can be triggered when you have adventures and high intensity games and rides, like that in an amusement park. Goa recently came up with its very own bungee jumping from the top of a crane in the north district of Goa. There are also 2 amusement parks, namely Froggyland in Verna and Splashdown in Anjuna. They are small in area, but quite enjoyable as a couple. The best activities are the water sports such as parasailing, water skiing, jet skiing, flyboarding and much more. They also provide moderate activities like dolphin trip, island trip.

Trust me when I say this, a girl will always love it when you go overboard to make her happy - do things that both of you never experienced before. That is the panacea of a long-lasting love relationship.

Speaking of some lonely places, one could go to the secluded beaches in the South. There are many that I could list, Nuem and Cabo-de Rama to name a few. Secondly, the Betul plateau and fort is another amazing place to enjoy the sunset with your loved one. However, be mindful of the perverts and eaveteasers. If you're not comfortable going alone (as a pair), tag some of your other couple friends along. We would always go to the big waterfalls that needed an hour long walk (like Netravali) with not less than 4-5 people. It is always fun in groups, not to mention that you have like a paparazzi to click your photos. Nobody would bat an eye on you that way.

If you're from a different state other than Goa, you could always gift your loved one a souvenir at the end of your vacation. This will definitely set the mood for nostalgia. Something like a keychain or a locket will work wonders to make y'all remember the beautiful memories you shared whilst in Goa. You can grab one for as less as Rs.10. The last time I bought one of these was opposite the Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa. There was a plethora of souvenirs to choose from.
