The beautiful Goa
The best place for tourists in India- GOA
a complete description of Goa from a Goan's perspective
Goa is not just about the pristine beaches and cheap alcohol rates and rave parties, there's so much more to this than meets the eye. it was colonised by the Portuguese and thus exhibit their rich architecture in it's churches and houses.
Goa is also rich in its flora and fauna as it rests in the western ghat biodiversity hotspot. Goa is prevalently known for its coconuts and cashew plantation in bulk. they are ubiquitous. Rice is the main food crop, and other crops include pulses, Ragi (Finger Millet) and others. The basic cash crops are coconut, cashewnut and also sugarcane, pineapple, mango and banana.
Goa's state animal is the Gaur, while the state bird is the Ruby Throated Yellow Bulbul and the state tree is the Asan.
The people of Goa (Goans) are cordial in their behaviour and consider it Godlike to be magnanimous to their neighbours. They showcase unity among their people and commit to helping others when need be.
Goa has been my home since childhood. My girlfriend and I were born and brought up in this tiny state of India. You will hear tons of stories from people visiting Goa, but they all differ from the one that we have to share.
While some of the tourists complain about the cons and atrocious lifestyle in Goa, others beg to differ. When it comes to getting duped, there is always an atrocious story behind it, mostly with regards to seeking prostitutes for pleasure. Most of the groups of men that turn up in Goa come with a very bad mindset - they ogle at tourists on the beach in bikinis and some shamefully eve tease every passing lady. If only our beautiful state wasn't potrayed in the same way as they did in the movies - you know which ones I'm talking about ( p.s. it has to do with potraying Goa as the source for peddling drugs and alcohol)
All my life has revolved around visits to the beaches and eating fish curry rice. I reckon that the fish recipes in Goa are the best in the whole country. The amalgamation of Portuguese and Indian spices in our dishes will make you drool for more.
