Well, I hear a lot of questions from tourists asking which part of Goa should they visit, or locally stay, if they have a tight itinerary. Which part of Goa do you like? Leave it in the comments to share with others. Also, share your best memories of Goa or any suggestion that you would like to give to other visitors.

My answers to this question is always a question to them asking what do they seek in Goa? Is it the rave parties? Or the delicious fish thali? Or the tranquility on the beach? If you have answers to these questions beforehand, then I
There are tons of water sports featured on the beaches of Goa such as Parasailing, paragliding, banana ride, kayaking, canoeing, dolphin trips etc. They are usually priced between 500 to 2500 depending on the location. Some of these activities are not fit for the faint hearted

can help you out better. Or you can help yourself better. I have presented below a comparison of both the flanks of Goa so that you may have a better idea of where to stay if you think of coming to Goa for even as little as a day or two maybe.

P.s. These keypoints have been made, considering you stay more closer to the cities of Panaji and Margao (which most of the tourists do) and not the extreme villages, where public commute becomes a problem.

Pros of being in North Goa

  • Daily rave parties and huge number of discotheque and pubs
  • Weekend flee markets to get the best handcrafts and spices. 
  • The only 2 malls in Goa are in the North if you're more of a branded person.
    I had one of the best buffet service in Goa offering so much of fish and meat products. There were prawns, kingfish, catfish, chicken, mutton, pork, beef, noodles, fried rice and so much more.

  • Variants of cuisines and restaurants. You will be spoilt for choice.

Cons of North Goa

  • Overcrowded mostly during the peak season time. Expect to get stuck in traffic jams every now and then.
  • High cases of drug abuse and molestation compared to the South.


Pros of being in South Goa as compared to North

  • Comparatively cheap rooms and apartments.
  •  Less crowded and less chances of getting into a traffic jam.
  • Ideal if you're looking more to blend-in with nature - visiting waterfalls, springs, less crowded beaches.
  • Plenty of notable resorts (3🌟 or more, such as Radissons, Taj Exotica, Leela, Mahindra, etc)
  • Easy to commute via air, rail and road. Close to the international airport and Railway station.

Cons of South Goa

  • Not much happening places around such as major events and discotheques. 
  • Not ideal for teenagers/ adults looking for rave parties and EDMs, casinos.
  • Traffic galore
  • Fishing at the Mobor Jetty
