The best day of my life in Goa

On One Fun Day in Goa

After a stressful exam  week in the college and the weekend
It was one bright Friday afternoon with some occasional drizzling that lit our mood whilst texting and made us plan a day out to enjoy the last days of summer. All we needed was someone to take the initiative to put forth the plan on the group and the rest of the girls spontaneously agreed.

As we made up our minds with regards to the places to visit, we had to put a lot of thought into it; especially because we had to ensure it was convenient for everybody (the whole strength of my class of 35 girls) to leave the comfort of their homes on a Sunday afternoon (the only day of rest during the whole week). Each person suggested some places as per their liking but eventually came to an agreement to go the majorda beach (the closest sea shore from our University).

Majorda beach is in South Goa, between Utorda -flanked in the Northern side- and the Betalbatim beach to its South. This is one of the prettiest beaches in the south. Majorda beach in itself is about half a kilometer long, but is part of a 25 kilometer wide stretch of sand along the Arabian Sea. There are a few beach shacks where you can spread out that serve tasty, authentic Goan / Konkan, Russian, continental, Indian food and drinks. You can use the sun lounger and umbrella for free if you place an order. This benefit is offered so that the tourists can relax while the food gets prepared. Also, in the evenings, you get the privilege to dine on candle-lit tables on the beach under the dazzling night sky and stars.

It was such a pleasant weather along with some crazy company that made this day at one of the most amazing beach in Goa a memorable one. It was cloudy and the breeze made it enjoyable. We were thrilled from finding the whole beach to ourselves in broad daylight.

This is a great beach for nature lovers and adventure seekers. There is water sports here you can enjoy with comparatively less crowd; thereby letting you enjoy the adrenaline rush sport for a much longer time. Also, you won't get disturbed by the nomads selling their products unlike other famous beaches, like Colva (situated only about 10 minutes away).

The coconut trees on the beach provide beautification and shade (predominantly for the couples looking to stay away from the sun and relatives). What mesmerizes me the most is the quality of restaurants that are around this area. You will find some of Goa's best restaurants around the locality offering finger licking meal offers and scrumptious seafood.
This succulent and crisp calamari and chicken strips were mouth watering, delicious and aromatic. It was so good that we had atleast 3 more servings of it. Everything at Pentagon is on fleek and upto the standard quality.

There are also a few clubs, restaurants, and pubs too. It's totally upto you to decide how you want to enjoy your evening. You can either go for a long stroll or just sit back and relax, enjoying the sound of the waves breaking. If you are looking for a laid-back and relaxing Goa vacation, then the Majorda beach is the perfect go-to destination. The golden sandy beach that slopes down to the sea gently is the ideal setting for beach football. It is wide, clean, and very quiet. There are no buildings on the beach, except a few shacks with their loungers and umbrellas. You can stretch out to relax and enjoy some Konkani delicacies and drinks. Mish-Mar, Kamron, Vaniya's Paradise, Sam's, Greenland, and Samson's Aquarian Bar are the beach shacks here. They are mostly temporary structures that are pulled down after the peak season.

The Mish-Mar shack is located between this stream and the sea. Beautiful setting! There is a car parking lot on the right just before the beach. Plenty of it. Tall trees everywhere – lots of greenery in the vicinity. The Majorda Beach Resort, which dominates the landscape here, will be on your right, surrounded by a large fence. If you had casino on your wish list, you could enjoy that in this resort. They have their very own roulette and on-shore casino. There is an entry fee with unlimited food and drinks on the inside, for free. Yeah! You read it correctly! Once you're in, enjoy the alcoholic as-well-as non-alcoholic drinks with the buffet while playing some games. On a side note, I found the place claustrophobic or maybe that was just the excessive alcohol in action.

It is said that the Portuguese taught these villagers how to bake European breads and the bakeries here are still considered some of the best in the state. Also, according to a legend, Lord Rama was kidnapped and brought here when he was a kid. But he managed to run away.

Anyways, back to the trip: we decided to have lunch at a Pentagon shack. It is a seasonal restaurant, on the way to Majorda beach. The restaurant remains packed during the peak hours in the season ( November to January). We had to book our tables in advance. That's the thumb rule for visiting such local favorite places during the lunch and dinner service times.
This restaurant always provides one of the best service with a smile. The waiters are patient, cheerful and compassionate with the customers while the food is tasty.

It was a great sensation to see almost half of the space booked for our group. The rest of the customers were enthralled to see such a large group of girls entering the restaurant in unison as if there was something serious going to happen. It was exhilarating to see the stewards trying their level best to give us the best service together without causing much delay. Well, it was great time interacting with each other ,taking selfies while we wait to get our orders. This restaurant is popular for its great ambience and the soothing live music also the decent garden setting makes it a kid friendly restaurant. It also have a great view of the green fields and a very peaceful and calm environment. The food is very delicious and the favourite among the Goans. Hence, this restaurant is known for its finest quality food and entertainment.

We had a great time on the beach. The best part was to watch the waves dancing to and fro, breaking down with a loud sound and retreating peacefully after touching the feet. I liked the feeling of getting wet in the rain on the beach. The cold breeze along with the rains and the sound of the rough sea was beautiful.
